FAMILY
We live in Vancouver with our two girls and love to take advantage of everything the city has to offer. In our free time you can find us at the soccer pitch, swim meets, skiing, cycling, at a community centre or dining at our neighbourhood pizza place.
TRAVEL
I think I caught the travel bug after spending six weeks backpacking western Europe with my family when I was eight years old.
Our adventures started with a tiny wedding in Zermatt, Switzerland – a small car-free town at the foot of the Matterhorn – in 2000. In the pre-child phase of our lives we spent at least a month each year travelling. Our travels took us through just about every corner of Europe, as well as Australia, Turkey, and Egypt.
As our family has grown, so have our adventures. After riding the rails through France and Switzerland and weeks driving throughout Puglia, we hope we’ve nurtured the same interests in our kids.
There are numerous highlights from our travels. If you ever corner me I would be happy to tell you a story or two from our most memorable experiences:
- A spur of the moment camping trip with strangers (soon friends) from Seville to Granada
- Crashing an Italian wedding party in Vernazza
- Sleeping in a frozen cave in Cappadocia
- Sailing on a felucca down the Nile
- Sky-diving near Coolum
- Bungee jumping in a man-made shipping channel in Corinth
